Autumn Hike at the Walden Pond State Reservation

Enjoy an easy 2 hr hike around historic Walden Pond in Concord.  A flat and easy hike for everyone, although no dogs allowed at this site.  Join us in exploring the home of famous American author, Henry David Thoreau.  It is a stunning place for forest and lake photos!

  • Where:  915 Walden St., Concord, MA 01742.  Meet inside the front door of the Visitors Center.
  • When:  Sunday, 19 November @ 11 am (Depart for hike at 11.15 am).  Approx. 2 hr hike.
  • Parking:  Buy a parking pass in advance, online only:  either $8 for one day, or a state reservation pass.  Please see Walden Pond website for links to buy parking pass.
  • How:  Bring water and snacks for yourself, warm clothes/jacket, and you may enjoy hiking boots more than tennis shoes.

“Let a visit to Walden Pond bring you back in time to the mid-1800's. Experience the connection with nature that inspired Henry David Thoreau's Walden… Also be sure to visit the replica of Thoreau's single-room cabin.”

After the hike, feel free to enjoy the informative park visitors center, or gather for brunch in nearby Concord.

If it is raining, we will not go hiking.  Please check the Columbia Alumni Boston Facebook page that morning for a weather cancellation.
