Alumni Cheer the Lions at Harvard

Last Friday, local alumni gathered to cheer on the men's basketball team as they battled Harvard at Lavietes pavilion.  Alumni initially met for some pre-game drinks and conversation at John Harvard's brewhouse.  The Columbia basketball coach, Kyle Smith, and former manager of the team, Jerry Sherwin, joined for the happy hour.

Alumni then migrated to the game and did their very best to roar with the Lions!

It was an incredibly exciting match.  Columbia trailed by as much as 20 at the beginning of the 2nd half. They scratched and clawed to close the gap, pulling within 4 in the final minutes of the game. The Lions nailed a 3-point shot with about a minute left, got a defensive stop and hit another 3-point shot with about 10 seconds left to tie.  However, in the last 2 seconds of the game, a Harvard player hit a shot and retook the lead. The lions fought their very best, and we were proud of them, nonetheless.  See here for pictures from the event.

Next up is the women's basketball game at Harvard on the 28th of February.  We'll again have a pre-game happy hour with the women's coach at John Harvard's starting at 4pm.  See here for tickets.  We look forward to seeing you then and cheering on the women's team to victory!
