On Saturday evening, May 6, 2017, over fifty Boston-area Columbia alumni gathered to listen and support Yelena Dudochkin, CC 1998 soprano, as she performed with the Longwood Symphony Orchestra at Jordan Hall. Yelena has captivated audiences with her expressive stage presence, rich soprano voice, and powerful interpretations. The Longwood Symphony Orchestra is a volunteer orchestra committed to excellence in music, medicine, and service with the concert proceeds going to support organizations focused on improving local and international health. Yelena sang five solo pieces, ranging from the classical "O mio babbino caro," a Puccini stand out, to the contemporary "I Want Magic," by Andre Previn. In addition, she sang the duet from Porgy and Bess, "Bess, You Is My Woman Now," with baritone Philip Lima. After a fantastic musical evening, the group was invited to the after-concert reception with the artists. Congratulations to Yelena for an amazing performance and we look forward to many more!
