Team Penn-Columbia lost to Harvard, 18-10, in a game that was closer than the scorecard might suggest. Despite our defense being in good fielding position throughout the game, we had at least three balls go right through our gloves for unforced errors. Regardless, the team fought hard and kept the game competitive being forced to play shorthanded (down a few ladies). Last season's league champion Harvard played solid defense and began finding holes on the right side. Rookies Akash and Lexie got an RBI and single, respectively in their first appearances of the season---thank you for coming out to play even after being held up at work!

2024 Ivy Alumni Softball Game 2 Recap
Meanwhile at Amory Playground, Micah led Team Columbia to a thrilling win in his first game as captain. After a strong start, holding Cornell to 2 runs in the first 2 innings, Cornell was able to find holes in the Columbia defense with some bombs. Columbia maintained a steady scoring pace with hits all through the lineup but entered the bottom of the final sixth inning down 8 runs. Columbia scored a few but with 2 outs were still down 5 runs. Incredibly, the team couldn’t stop hitting and scored 6 more clutch runs with 2 outs to earn a walk off victory! A true team effort with contributions from every player in the lineup and on the field. Great job newbie Jennifer S who caught a pop up from the catcher position and hit a few singles!
